Amazon Haul vs Temu vs Shein (India): What Can You Use?
Amazon Haul vs Temu vs Shein for Indian shoppers: what each is, where it is available, what we could not confirm, and a checklist for cheap stores.
On this page
Short answer: As of 8 October 2026, we could confirm only one of the three for India: a Shein-branded app, which press reports say Reliance Retail relaunched on 1 February 2025. We could not confirm Amazon Haul or Temu in India. This guide explains each service and gives a checklist for any ultra-low-price store.
Search results for this question are mostly written for shoppers in the US and Europe. They talk about shipping to America and import rules there. An Indian reader needs a different first question: can I even use it here? So this guide starts with what each service is, then what we could and could not confirm about availability, then how to judge any very cheap storefront.
This is not a verdict. We have not bought from, tested or rated any of these services.
How this page was checked
We read the primary page we could reach on 8 October 2026 and cite major news for the rest. Where a company's own page would not load, or we could not find a dated source, we say "we could not confirm" instead of filling the gap.
What is Amazon Haul?
Amazon describes Haul in its own newsroom as a low-price shopping section. On the page we read, Amazon says that "over a million items" in Haul are priced under $10, with many under $5, and that it has seen growth in items under $3.
The same page says Haul operates in 25 locations, including the US, Australia, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain and the UK. For other regions it names "Amazon Bazaar", listing countries such as Mexico, Saudi Arabia and the UAE, and it mentions continued expansion in 2026.
India is not named on that page. The page also does not state delivery times or return terms, so we do not state them either. For the full background, see our guide to Amazon Haul in India.
What is Temu?
Temu is an online marketplace app and website, and it is a separate company from Amazon. Temu's own About pages did not load when we tried to read them, so we are not quoting its description, its list of countries or how it explains its prices.
News searches we ran returned reports about Temu in other Asian countries, but no dated primary source or major report showing a launch in India. So the honest status is: we could not confirm that Temu is available in India. To check, open the Temu website or search the Google Play Store or Apple App Store from your own phone, and see whether it lets you shop and deliver to an Indian address.
What is Shein, and what happened in India?
Shein is a fashion retailer. Its own site redirected us to a regional page, and we could not read an About page, so we do not quote Shein's self-description.
On India, we can cite reporting. TechCrunch and IndiaRetailing, both from early February 2025, report that a Shein-branded app relaunched in India on 1 February 2025 in partnership with Reliance Retail. Reports say Reliance Retail runs the platform and that the earlier Shein app was among the Chinese apps India blocked in 2020. They also say the relaunch started with delivery to Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru, with a wider rollout planned.
Two cautions. These are news reports from early 2025, not a current statement from either company, and coverage and terms may have changed since. And the India app is described as operated by Reliance, so its terms are Reliance's, not those of Shein's international site. Read the seller and returns details inside the app you actually use.
Which of the three is available in India?
| Service | What we could confirm | How to check yourself |
|---|---|---|
| Amazon Haul | Amazon's page lists 25 locations and Bazaar elsewhere. India is not named. We could not confirm an India launch. | Open the Amazon.in app and look for a Haul or similar section. Check Amazon India's own announcements. |
| Temu | No primary source or dated major report found for India. Temu's own pages did not load for us. We could not confirm availability. | Check the app store listing and whether the site lets you set an Indian delivery address. |
| Shein | Reports from February 2025 say a Reliance-operated Shein app relaunched in India. We could not read a current company page. | Check the current app listing, who the seller is, and the delivery area and returns terms in the app. |
This table will go out of date. Availability can change, so treat it as a snapshot and run the checks in the right-hand column before you rely on it.
Why are the prices so low?
It is natural to ask, and it is also where guessing is most tempting. We could find no statement from Amazon, Temu or Shein, on the pages we could read, explaining their low prices in a way we can quote and verify. So we will not explain it for them.
What you can do is judge the price on the page. A low sticker price tells you what the store charges, not what the item is worth, how long it will last or how easy it is to return. Those need separate checks, which is what the next section is for.
A checklist for any ultra-low-price store
Use this on Amazon Haul, Temu, Shein, Meesho or a store you have never heard of. It does not need any tool.
- Compare the same item. Match size, colour, material and pack. A look-alike at a lower price is not the same product. See how to compare prices on Amazon, Flipkart and Myntra.
- Check the real price. A "70% off" tag compares against a price the seller chose. Look at the price you actually pay and what the item has recently sold for. Our guide to the real price of a product in India walks through it.
- Add shipping and fees. Go to the checkout page and read the payable total in rupees, not the listing price.
- Check delivery time. Find the stated delivery window for your pin code. A cheaper item that arrives much later is a different trade.
- Read the returns terms on the store's own page. Who pays for return shipping, how many days you get, and which items are excluded. Do not rely on a reviewer's summary, including ours.
- Check the currency and the seller. Make sure the total is in the currency you expect, and note who the seller is.
- If it ships from abroad, check the extra costs before you pay. Duties, taxes or customs handling can add to the total. We have not verified Indian rules from a government page for this article, so look for the store's own checkout disclosure and the official Indian customs guidance.
- Take a screenshot of the price and terms before you pay, in case you need to refer back to them.
What to compare, side by side
| What to compare | Amazon Haul (from Amazon's page) | How to check on any storefront |
|---|---|---|
| Price level | Amazon says over a million items are priced under $10, many under $5 | Compare one identical item across stores, using the payable total in rupees |
| Where it is available | 25 locations listed, Bazaar in other countries, India not named | Look for the store in your app store and see if it accepts an Indian address |
| Delivery time | Not stated on the page we read | Read the delivery estimate for your pin code at checkout |
| Returns | Not stated on the page we read | Read the returns policy on the store's own page before you pay |
| Shipping and extra costs | Not stated on the page we read | Compare the checkout total against the listing price |
| Who sells it | Not stated on the page we read | Read the seller name and any seller-specific terms on the product page |
Can I use Meesho or another Indian option instead?
If your question is "where can I shop cheaply in India today", it may be simpler to start with stores that clearly serve Indian addresses. Our guide to a Meesho haul explains how that works, and what a shopping haul is covers the term. The same checklist above applies there. None of this means any store is better. It only means you can confirm availability for yourself.
How HAULS may help later
HAULS is pre-launch, and its browser extension does not exist yet. Nothing here describes a feature you can use today.
When the extension is released, it is planned to let you compare prices across stores you choose to open, and to show a price history that HAULS has itself observed. It will not see prices on stores it has not recorded. You can read how we plan to handle this in our methodology, see the planned cross-store compare and price history features, and read our editorial policy. To follow the launch, you can sign up or read about HAULS.
What to do next
Start with the availability table and run the checks yourself, since this snapshot will age. Then apply the checklist to one item you actually want, compare it across at least two stores and decide on the total, delivery time and returns terms rather than the sticker price. For more comparisons, browse the HAULS guides.
Frequently asked questions
Is Amazon Haul available in India?
We could not confirm it. Amazon's own Haul page lists 25 locations and names Bazaar for other countries, but does not name India. Check the Amazon.in app and Amazon India's announcements, and treat any other claim as unverified until Amazon says so.
Is Shein available in India?
Press reports from February 2025 say a Shein-branded app relaunched in India, operated by Reliance Retail rather than Shein itself. We could not read Shein's or Reliance's own pages, so check the current app store listing and what it says about who sells.
Is Temu available in India?
We could not confirm that it is. We found no primary source or dated major news report showing a Temu launch in India, and Temu's own pages did not load for us. Check the Temu site or app store listing for your country yourself.
What is the difference between Amazon Haul and Temu?
Amazon Haul is a section run by Amazon, with items it says are priced under $10 in its listed locations. Temu is a separate online marketplace. We did not compare their prices, quality or delivery, so judge them item by item.
Why are Amazon Haul, Temu and Shein prices so low?
We could not find a statement from any of the three that we could quote and verify, so we will not guess. Low prices can come with limits on delivery time, returns or quality. Compare the same item and read the terms.
Which is better, Amazon Haul, Temu or Shein?
This page does not rank them. Availability differs by country, the products differ, and we have not tested any of them. A fairer test is to compare one identical item, the full payable total, delivery time and the return terms.
Do I pay customs duty on cheap orders from abroad?
It can depend on the item and the route, and we have not verified Indian rules from a government page for this article. Check the store's checkout page for duties and fees, and read the official Indian customs guidance before ordering.
Will HAULS compare Amazon Haul, Temu and Shein?
Not today. HAULS is pre-launch and its browser extension does not exist yet. It is being designed to compare prices across stores a shopper chooses to open. Until then, the checklist on this page works with any store.
