What do Flipkart sale labels mean?

Short answer

A Flipkart sale label describes how a deal is offered, such as for one hour, every hour, or after spending a SuperCoin. It does not say whether the price is lower than what the item sold for recently. Read the label as a timer or a rule, then check the price against recent prices yourself.

Sale pages are full of names: Price Crash, Tick Tock Deals, Super Flash, Rush Hour. They sound like facts about the price. They are closer to the names of shelves in a shop. Each one tells you something about how the deal is presented, and none of them, on its own, tells you whether you are getting a good price.

This post lists the labels as Flipkart describes them on its Big Billion Days store page, adds what each one does and does not tell you, and ends with a four-step check you can run on any labelled deal. We name sale events but give no dates, because Flipkart's own page is the place for those. Labels change from year to year; what follows is as Flipkart's page described them when we checked.

Each label in Flipkart's words

The quotations below are from Flipkart's Big Billion Days store page, which we opened on 8 October 2026. We could not see how each label looks on a product listing, so we say nothing about that. The third column is our reading, not Flipkart's.

Flipkart's description of each label, and what it can and cannot tell you
Label and Flipkart's wordsWhat it tells youWhat it does not tell you
Price Crash: "Resets selected items to Day 0 prices for 1 hour."The price is meant to hold for a limited hour.Whether the Day 0 price is low compared with recent prices. The page does not define Day 0.
Double Discount: "Doubles the discount for 2 hours."A discount is increased for a short window. What the starting discount is measured against, or whether the final price is low.
Brand Hours: "Highlights selected favourites at great introductory prices."Brands are being featured at prices Flipkart calls introductory. What the price is introductory to, or how it compares with other stores.
Tick Tock Deals: "Features a new deal every hour."The featured deal changes through the day.Whether any featured price is below recent prices. Featured is not the same as cheap.
Super Flash: "Selected deals unlocked with 1 SuperCoin for 15 minutes after unlocking."You spend a SuperCoin to open the deal, then have 15 minutes. That the price is lower than normal. It only says the deal is gated and timed.
Rush Hour: "Opening day discounts on selected items for early visitors."Some discounts are aimed at early visitors. When it runs or who qualifies. We found no times on the page.
Deals of the Day: "Featured bestsellers on sale with extra discounts."Popular items are featured with extra discounts.Extra compared with what. Popular is not the same as well priced.
Budget Buys: "Products at fixed price points of ₹99, ₹199, ₹399, ₹599, ₹799, and ₹999."The price will be one of those fixed amounts.Whether the product is worth that amount, or what it normally costs.
Steal Deals: "Handpicked products at special prices."Someone selected the products. What makes the price special, or who did the picking.
BBD Specials: "Flipkart-exclusive products and new launches."These are exclusive items and new launches. How the price compares. A new or exclusive product may have no price history to compare with.

Flipkart's page also lists "Tech Top Deals", "Everyday Living Top Deals" and "Tyohaar Drops". We left those out of the table because their descriptions, daily new deals and curated products from a starting price, say nothing that changes how you would check a price.

What does "Day 0 price" mean?

We do not know, and Flipkart's page does not say. The only place we found the term is inside the Price Crash line: "Resets selected items to Day 0 prices for 1 hour." The page does not explain whether Day 0 means a price on the first day of the sale, a price before the sale, or something else.

That matters because a label is easy to read as a promise. "Reset to Day 0" can sound like "back to the lowest price", but nothing on the page says that. Until Flipkart defines it, treat Day 0 as an undefined term and judge the price in front of you.

Does a label mean the price is lower than before?

No label on the page says so. Every description above is about timing, selection or access: for an hour, every hour, after unlocking, for early visitors. None says "lowest price in the last 90 days" or "lower than last week".

The one thing that answers the question is a comparison with recent prices for the same item, in the same variant. Our guide to checking price history on Amazon, Flipkart and Myntra covers where to find them. Our post on whether that discount is real covers the arithmetic of the percentage, and was the price raised before the sale explains what to look for in the weeks leading up to it.

Timers and "selling fast": how to read urgency

Several labels are time-boxed by design: one hour, two hours, fifteen minutes. A timer tells you when the offer ends. It does not tell you the price is fair, and it does not tell you the product will be gone or the price will not return. If a timer is the only reason you are buying, you are buying the timer.

A calmer way to use it is to decide your target price before you open the app. If the labelled price meets the target, buy. If it does not, the timer has no bearing on your decision.

Bank offers and No Cost EMI on labelled deals

A labelled deal and a card offer are separate things that can sit on the same listing. Flipkart's page says the No Cost EMI benefit is "applicable for available tenures and participating card options", which means it does not apply to every card or every instalment plan. Whether an offer lowers your price depends on the card you hold, the minimum spend and what shows at checkout.

So the price on the label is not necessarily the price you pay. Work out your effective price from the checkout screen, as set out in our post on the real price of a product. We have not verified how No Cost EMI is funded or charged, so we say nothing on that here.

How to check a labelled deal in four steps

A worked check, with illustrative numbers and not a real product
Price shown with a Price Crash label₹2,999
Typical price for this exact variant, last few weeks₹3,050
Lowest price for this variant, last few weeks₹2,950
Your price after offers you actually qualify for, plus fees₹2,999
Gap against the typical price₹51 below

In this made-up example the label is accurate and the price is fine, but it is ₹51 below the typical price, not a dramatic crash. That is the information the label could not give you.

  1. Note the label and its rule. Is it an hour, a coin, an early-visitor price? Write down what the label says it does, using the table above.
  2. Pin down the exact item. Same model, colour, size and seller. Prices differ by variant.
  3. Find recent prices. Use a price-history chart, your own screenshots from before the sale, or a second store.
  4. Compute your effective price and compare. Take the checkout total after offers you really qualify for, with fees. If it is clearly below the typical recent price, it is a good price. If you could not find recent prices, say so to yourself: all you know is that the price is one you are willing to pay.

Where will HAULS fit?

HAULS is pre-launch. The browser extension has not launched, and nothing on this page is HAULS data. When it launches, it will aim to compare a labelled price with the selling prices it has observed for the same product, and we will publish how it does that on the methodology page. You can read about the planned approach on the honest discounts, price history and Buy or Wait pages, or the Flipkart price tracker page. For a hands-on walkthrough of shopping a sale, see our guides and the Flipkart haul guide.

HAULS has a commercial interest in this topic and we would rather say so. If you want to hear when the extension ships, join the waitlist.

How this page was checked

Last verified: 8 October 2026. Every label description and quotation comes from Flipkart's Big Billion Days store page, which we opened that day. We have not seen the labels on live product listings, and we do not know how Flipkart decides which items carry them. Flipkart may change or remove these labels, and the page itself may change after the sale. The worked example uses invented numbers. If something here is wrong or out of date, tell us through the about page and we will correct it.

Frequently asked questions

What is Price Crash on Flipkart?

Flipkart's sale page describes Price Crash as something that "resets selected items to Day 0 prices for 1 hour". That tells you the price is time-limited. It does not say how the price compares with what the item sold for last month, so check that yourself.

What is a Tick Tock Deal on Flipkart?

Flipkart describes Tick Tock Deals as a label that "features a new deal every hour". So the featured deal rotates through the day. The label says nothing about whether any featured price is low, so compare each one with the item's recent prices.

What is Double Discount on Flipkart?

Flipkart says Double Discount "doubles the discount for 2 hours". A doubled discount is only as meaningful as the number it starts from, so check what the base discount is measured against. Compare the final price with recent prices, not with the crossed-out figure.

What is Rush Hour on Flipkart?

Flipkart describes Rush Hour as "opening day discounts on selected items for early visitors". We could not verify any Rush Hour timings from Flipkart's page, so this post does not give times. Check the Flipkart app for how and when it applies to you.

What is Super Flash on Flipkart?

Flipkart describes Super Flash as selected deals "unlocked with 1 SuperCoin for 15 minutes after unlocking". So you spend a SuperCoin to open the deal, then have a short window. Count that coin as part of the cost, and still compare the price with recent prices.

Is a Price Crash deal the lowest price ever?

Flipkart's description does not say so. It says selected items are reset to "Day 0 prices" for an hour, and we found no definition of that term on the page. Treat the label as a timer and check the price against recent prices before you buy.

Do these labels apply to every product on Flipkart?

No. Flipkart's wording uses "selected items" or "selected deals" for several labels, and its page says price reductions vary by product and offer. A label on one listing does not mean similar products carry the same deal. Check the listing you are buying.

Does HAULS track Flipkart deal labels?

Not yet. HAULS is pre-launch and its browser extension does not exist, so it tracks nothing today. It is being designed to compare a price with prices it has itself observed. Until then, the four-step check on this page works with no tool.
